Merlin has been a leading communications adviser in the international Aerospace and Defence market since the mid 1990’s.

We have advised global number one aerospace manufacturer Airbus on business and financial communications since 1994, and its aerospace, space and defence holding company EADS N.V. since 2002. In this capacity we have worked alongside some of the world’s leading airlines, and have advised on communications for Airbus’ new aircraft programmes such as the A380,  the A350 XWB and the A400M. We have also worked closely with leading space company Astrium, global number one helicopter manufacturer Eurocopter, and on defence programmes such as the UK’s RAF inflight re-fuelling PFI programme, FSTA, which was won by the AirTanker consortium.

Across the industry more widely we have acted for airline operators,  business jet corporations, systems integrators and support service providers. This has included M&A work in the UK, Middle East, North America and Former Soviet Union; crisis communications; and public affairs campaigns for industrial companies and for consumer brands working in the sector. Recent clients have included AirAsia, SR Technics, Irkut Corporation; CFM International; Serco and Comlux. Our work in the aerospace and defence sector frequently combines high profile issues with a need to coordinate international messages.
